  • Bosnia and Herzegovina has currently low average meat consumption per capita- estimated at 34.8kg
  • In 2000- total meat imports amounted €89.9 million- while the value of exports was only €8.24 million. Six years later- in 2006- the situation was even worse at- €127.12 million and €8.33 million s respectively
  • The slow increase in beef production is due to the increase in cattle numbers only coming in the dairy herd.
  • According to USAID as of 2001 meat consumption per capita was 34.8 kg of which 14.5 kg (41.6%) was beef
