• In 2009- Chile was reported to have a total of 155.6 lbs/person/year MC.
• The country was ranked by FAO as 45th among other countries with high meat consumption.
• In the last two decades Chileans consumption of different meats has doubled according to data from the Agriculture Policy and Studies Office- ODEPA
• From the 39.6 kilos of 1991- meats consumption soared in 2011 to 84.2 kilos on average- and not taking into account fish and sea food.
• On average Chileans consumed 89.1 kilos of meat per person in 2013- giving an increase of 9.7% in consumption in the last five years.
